Harassment, Intimidation, and Bullying (HIB)
The South Orange & Maplewood School District is committed to fostering a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for every student. Children deserve to learn and grow free from fear, harassment, or intimidation. Our schools proactively promote kindness, accountability, and community, ensuring that every voice is heard and that every student feels they belong, in alignment with N.J.S.A. 18A:37-15(b)(6).

The district's anti-bullying software program, HIBster, facilitates submissions of bullying allegations. Developed with students and teachers in mind, the system serves as the center for executing all necessary procedures to meet the state's terms and due dates. School officials take actions that are efficient, methodical, and without confusion due to the strict nature of anti-bullying requirements.
