The District is transitioning to Meritain, an Aetna company, for medical coverage, with access to the Aetna Choice POS II network. Prescription benefits will also be provided through CVS Caremark. We are using a "passive enrollment" process to make this transition as smooth as possible.

What is "Passive Enrollment" and What It Means for You

Think of it as "automatic enrollment."

It means that if you are happy with your current type of plan, you don't have to do anything. We have "mapped"—or matched—your current plan to the closest, most similar plan offered by our new insurance provider.

If you take no action during Open Enrollment, you will be automatically rolled over into that new, similar plan.
