Primary Care and Rural Health | Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs)

New Jersey’s Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) deliver high quality health care to all people regardless of their ability to pay.  You don’t need health insurance to receive care at a health center. They serve the uninsured as well as patients with Medicaid, NJ FamilyCare, Medicare and private insurance.  If you are uninsured, fees are charged based on your income level using a sliding fee scale. No one is every turned away for lack of funds.

COVID-19 testing is free of charge, regardless if you have insurance or not.

Health centers provide a wide range of services which include:

  • Lab Services

DENTAL HEALTH

American Dental Association 

ADA Find-a-Dentist: Search by zip code and specialty/general. Then you can filter payment options to include "Medicaid accepted."

 

Rutgers School of Dental Medicine

Rutgers School of Dental Medicine:  Accepts Medicaid and has a sliding scale fee schedule. They have clinics for almost every dental specialty (oral surgery, orthodontics, pediatrics, endodontics/root canals, periodontics/gum stuff, prosthodontics/dentures, crowns and bridges)
